What the botany and zoology wellness initiative actually does

1. Organize events to promote mental wellness

These include information sessions, guided meditations, and structured social activities. Find out more here.

2. Provide access to teaching faculty mentors

For a variety of reasons, it can be difficult to discuss mental health related issues with your supervisor or graduate adviser. Certain teaching faculty members have volunteered to be mentors for grad students. You can approach them about these issues. Find our more about this here.

3. Assess botany and zoology grad student well-being

We will be conducting regular confidential surveys to assess the well-being of current grad students, in order to understand and meet current needs. Find out more about confidentiality and access the latest survey here.

4. We are here to support you

First and foremost, we are here for you. We are advocates of your wellbeing and we want to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact us either anonymously here or email directly at wellness@biodiversity.ubc.ca
