UBC Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SVPRO)

Changes during COVID-19: The office is continuing to operate, with information and services provided online or over the phone. The can be reached at 604-822-1588 or svpro.vancouver@ubc.ca

This office exists to provide support to UBC-associated folks (students, staff, and faculty) who have experienced sexualized violence of any kind and regardless of when or where the assault took place. It is completely confidential, and there are no specific requirements for seeking help here. The organization welcomes all gender identities, expressions, and sexualities. You will not be required to visit a hospital or make a police report to visit the office.

Services provided: 

1. Support finding a safe place to stay

2. Arranging academic concessions or workplace accommodations, including leave

3. Informing about reporting options

4. Accompanying victims to medical/police/court appointments, should you choose to pursue these options

Representatives from SVPRO are available to talk by phone or email. Whatever decisions the victim makes regarding their next steps will be supported. You are not alone.

If a representative does not pick up the phone, or respond to an email immediately, it is because they are assisting someone else. Leave a message, they will get back to you in the next business day.
