International Student Advising​

 

This advising service is available to all UBC international students. It's intended to help with issues that are specific to international students, such as visa applications, work guidelines and permits, and healthcare.

How to access International Student Advising:

Email them at isa@students.ubc.ca 

Or join a drop-in advising session on zoom. These can be accessed via their website: https://students.ubc.ca/about-student-services/international-student-advising

Their hours are Mon-Fri 9:30-4​

What happens when I go to an advising session?

The advisor will be either a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or a Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA). They will listen to your specific issues, and provide options and advice.

Include your student number when emailing them.

This initiative is run by botany and zoology grad students and faculty with the goal of providing better mental health support to grad students. We host stress-relieving events, wellness workshops, provide access to teaching faculty mentors, and advocate for your mental wellness to the departments. Find out more here.
